Our mission

A book can open a door.

Through Read It Forward, individuals, businesses, and community partners can sponsor books that are placed into the hands of readers who may not otherwise have access to them. Each sponsorship helps JPP extend the reach of meaningful stories, encourage literacy, and put books where they can make a difference.

Read It Forward is a JPP initiative developed by co-founders Barbara and Charles Ratliff. The idea behind the program began years before JPP existed, when co-founder Charles Ratliff spent time supporting teachers and helping with reading materials at his daughter's elementary school. That experience reinforced a belief that still guides the program today: access to books can open doors.

Jackrabbit Punkin Publishing LLC is a for-profit independent publisher. Sponsorships support book purchases and distribution and are not tax-deductible unless noted through an approved nonprofit partner.

Public sponsor names and logos are displayed only with JPP approval and sponsor permission. Logo placement is reserved for approved Literacy Trailblazer sponsors.

How it works

From sponsor to community.

  1. Choose a Read It Forward sponsorship level.
  2. JPP prepares the sponsored books for placement.
  3. Community partners help identify readers and programs where the books can make a meaningful difference.
  4. Books are placed into the hands of readers and participating communities.
  5. Sponsors receive updates when available so they can see how their support helped move reading forward.
